Throughout elementary school I played all three sports; basketball, softball, and soccer. I then spent six years of my life participating in cheerleading, and it quickly became part of my daily routine for so long. Once I ended cheerleading I asked myself, "What do I do now?" That is when I discovered dance. Freshman year in the beginning of October, I went to my first dance class. Ever since then I was hooked. Dance has become such a strong passion of mine and it is a form of freedom and a way to escape stress. I attend dance at Newbury Community Ballet, taking part in both hip-hop and modern. Last year, I attended my first ever recital, as my first year softball became too busy and I was not able to perform. Ever since that first day in October, I have fell in love with dance.
The other sport I participate in is softball. I began when I was in 1st grade playing t-ball, and at the time I hated it. Now I play third base on the Varsity Softball team at my school. My friends are also on the team; Shelby: second base, Morgan: pitcher, Christle: outfield, Allie: catcher, Emilee: pitcher. Last school year, both the Varsity baseball and softball teams at BMU made it to the championship. Unfortunately, my team lost 5-4 in the 8th inning. However, the boys baseball team won in the 9th inning, and a proud moment of mine was watching my brother make the winning play. I remember everyone showing up at the school at 2am for a celebration and that is a night I will never forget. Even though the softball team did not win, we still played out hardest and I am proud to say we made it that far, especially being such a young team.
